Due to the fact that the Beijing and Chinese government are going to bar car owners for driving into the city for the Beijing 2008 games period, they are also going to supply compensations! The government is currently enganged in assigning a sort of scheme to make car owners happy during the Beijing 2008 games and hopefully they will come to a conclusion soon.
The city is abruptly changing recently with controls on polution and immigrants, particularly from the rural parts as they are increasing the street controls of resident permits. In China, everyone has a permit they have to carry around with them, a sort of ID card which they will have to supply if a police official asks for it. The reason these controls have tightened, as we can see it is to increase security for the 2008 games!
According to the Vice Mayor, Ji Lin these measures are intended to reduce the air pollution and traffic congestion which are two of the hardest to combat factors. However, these measures will need to be diminished in anticipation for the beijing 2008 games.

George W Bush has always planned on attending the Beijing Games and Beijing Olympics 2008, plans which remain unchanged!
On an interview with the BBC, he said:
āIām going to the Olympics. I view the Olympics as a sporting event,ā
Steven Spielberg however has stated that he will not be attending due to concerns about the violence in the Sudan Darfur reason. The fact that Bush said he will not use the Games Bejing to help with the overall world awareness of such conditions may have seemed as expected to some, while unexpected for others. I think the guy is just trying to view some quality sport
.
The above thoughts by Bush have been re-inforced by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao who said that letting the Sudan issue affect the Beijing Olympics Games would be against the Olympics spirit and that sport should always be separated from politics.
Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor has also wished success to the Games Beijing Olympics 2008 whishing good luck and success to everyone taking parts. Merkel said she will not be attending the Beijing Olympics, however she will be going to Beijing in the autumn for the Europe-China summit!

There wasn’t a single year when I missed the Olympics! I have never however created a blog about it to record the day-to-day happenings at the games Beijing Olympics 2008, so this year will be a first; therefore excuse me if I miss something out or the website is not as you expected.

I chose wordpress to be my content management platform for the games Beijing 2008 edition as it’s hopefully easy to manage and configure! We’ve yet to see that.
I will organize my posts on the games Beijing by categories which are navigable on the right side column so far! I also have a sort of widget on the top of that column showing the count-down to when the games Beijing olympics 2008 start in China so you can keep track of the number of days to go.
Another little feature I like is the fact that you can move and play around with the little widgets, that including the category box, archives, photos, etc. basically everything on the side bars of this games Beijing 2008 blog or website! I’m not sure if the arrangement is kept after you close the website and come back, but it’s a nice feature of this theme.
Ah, and of course, you can always contact me if you have any questions, want me to post any pictures/ content, etc. - just about anything! Just use the form on the contact page
.
This is all for the introductory post and good luck to all the nations taking part in the games Beijing 2008!
